#CountMeIn Call to Action - Week 16: Diversify Your Newsfeed

week 16 2018 share graphic

In this digital era, access to vast amounts of information requires only the touch of a button. As you scroll through your newsfeed, ask yourself whose perspectives are represented, and whose aren't. Make sure that voices from communities different than your own are a part of your daily diet of information and opinion. The resources below can help get you started on this week's call to action.

Diversify your newsfeed.

Seek out perspectives of people of color, particularly women of color, by shifting whom you follow on social media, which news sources and podcasts you consume, and which books, articles, and poetry you read. Start by following five culturally specific organizations on social media and making sure the next book or article you read is by a woman of color.
