This week's call to action compels us to be proactive in naming the effects of racism and working to undo its harm. A good starting place for many of us is the process of unlearning racist biases and assumptions. Asking questions and listening are also key as we collectively highlight how racism affects our lives, from workplaces to schools to public policy.
Commit to disrupting racism.
Use your power and privilege responsibly in the service of justice. Interrupt and examine your own racist thoughts and actions. Always ask yourself “How does race show up in this?” Hold others accountable at home, work, and school, in media, the community, and elected office.
