Community Conversation on YouTube- December 14th, 2020

The Women's Foundation of Oregon hosted a community conversation on December 14, which was facilitated by some of our Foundation Board members: Sirius Bonner, Shadiin Garcia, and Brook Shelley. Our Executive Director, Emily Evans welcomed the group, provided updates and fielded any questions along the way as we discussed the evolution of the Foundation’s board, our brand new mission and values, and the gender justice landscape in 2020.

So many of you have been a part of our journey over the past several years: our intentional progression towards trust-based, anti-racist, and anti-colonial philanthropy. The changes you have seen so far—new ways of thinking about our board, major shifts to our grantmaking and membership practices, the rethinking of internal structures and practices—have been early but substantive moves in our ongoing evolution. And there will be more to come. As we near the end of this turbulent year and are unable to gather in person, we wanted to share virtual space with you, to answer your questions and to give you a sense of what we’re seeing, thinking, and doing to prepare for the days ahead.
