our focus
Research provides the Women's Foundation of Oregon with insights into the past experiences of women and girls in Oregon, informing our current grant making efforts. These grants address present needs, while our policy advocacy ensures the safety and well-being of women and girls in the future.
GRANTS
Grant making is how we financially support women and girls of Oregon. Most grant making processes are often complicated, burdensome and inaccessible for many. WFO works towards a reduced barrier and easy access system that is agile in order to get unrestricted money into the hands of agencies who deserve it quickly and efficiently. Our grant making model is rooted in relationships and begins with intentional outreach to those organizations and groups with a focus on services uplifting women, girls, and their families and communities, as well as those working on issues of oppression.
research
Before WFO got into research, no comprehensive reports about the state of women and girls in Oregon existed. We set out to change that, and in 2017 released the Count Her In, the most expansive, actionable, and inclusive analysis of Oregon’s women and girls.
We follow that precedent by asking questions and defining the missing pieces so we can build a broader knowledge resource that can shape policy and services that make the lives of women and girls better.
POLICY ADVOCACY
Policy advocacy is one of the three pillars of the Women's Foundation of Oregon's work. It represents our actionable approach to securing a just future for women and girls in Oregon. Our policy committee, comprising dedicated
volunteers, leads this effort. They are building a knowledgeable and proactive team that understands and analyzes upcoming policies affecting Oregon's women and girls.
