It Takes All Of Us
To our WFO Community,
There is a beautiful African proverb that states, “If you want to go fast, go alone; but if you want to go far, go together.” At the Women’s Foundation of Oregon we believe in bringing folks together, united with the common goal to achieve justice, and we know that we want to go far and we want to go together. The issues that we face are numerous, complex and can feel overwhelming. However, we are encouraged by collective action, movements in solidarity, and grassroots organizing that has led to substantial successes across the nation. WFO began our fight in 1887 and we are still here fighting for gender justice. WFO is committed to being a positive force in Oregon through the movement of ideas and resources across our state.
We are honored to be in partnership with Cleveland High School to support them in their efforts to bring an important conversation about masculinity in our current culture. Come join us for a robust evening discussion on how we can build a culture of healthy masculinity, where boys become men who are strong and loving, and who respect and value everyone, including themselves.
Our Policy Committee Co-Chair, Zhou Fang, has been leading the charge to bring pay transparency to Oregon in order to close the lingering, enduring and harmful gendered pay gap. Join her and Women in Science “for a night of learning as we delve into Pay Transparency movements in the U.S. Don't miss this opportunity to unravel the complexities of a critical issue shaping the employment landscape.”
Take a moment to dream about a future that you want to see. How can we create it? What work needs to be done? What part can you play? We invite you to join us in creating a more just world and we would love to hear about the future you envision. Our doors are open, let’s get to work!
In Solidarity,
The Women's Foundation of Oregon Team
