More than ever, we are grateful for our community. Reflections from our Executive Director, Libra Forde, regarding this moment in time and the next steps forward.

To our WFO community,

The recent election results have left us all with a lot to reflect on. At the Women’s Foundation of Oregon, we know that the clarity of this moment—however difficult to accept—calls us to action like never before. For many, these outcomes are a powerful reminder of how essential it is to build a future where women and girls are fully supported and have a voice in the direction of our society. We have been dedicated to this mission since 1887, and we’re here to make sure Oregonians have a place to activate and fight for gender equity.

Today, we’re calling on you to join us in this work. Becoming a member of the Women’s Foundation of Oregon means joining a statewide movement, one that is part of a powerful national network of women’s foundations committed to advancing gender justice. Together, we’re building an organized, determined force in Oregon—an “army” of people ready to combat the realities women and girls are facing.

As a member, you will have access to critical opportunities to get involved and support real change, starting with an exclusive event on November 19. We’re hosting "Demystifying the Policy Process" with special guests Former Governor Kate Brown and Former Rep. Rachel Prusak. This session is designed to empower you with the knowledge needed to understand and influence policy, especially in this challenging landscape (information below).

Beyond this event, we’ll be partnering with Oregon States Commission for Women monitoring every bill in the upcoming long session that could impact women and girls, ensuring that our voices are represented in every step of the process.

We’ve been for women since 1887, and today, we’re more committed than ever to making Oregon a place where women and girls can thrive. Join us—become a member, be part of this movement, and help build the future we all deserve. Below are is our Call to Action
