Reinforcing our Commitment to Gender and Reproductive Justice
Dear Friends,
The fight and struggle for reproductive justice still continues.
Here are the facts: Friday afternoon, a judge in Texas ruled that the FDA must suspend the decades-long approval of Mifepristone, the first of a two-part series of drugs used in a medication abortion, in four days. Although the court is in Texas, this could lead to a nationwide injunction affecting all 50 states, including states where medication abortion is currently legal. In the next following days, the federal government can appeal to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit. For more information read here.
We at WFO are committed to reproductive rights and justice. We know the implications to people and families when individuals do not have the ability and access to make their own reproductive choices. We are reinforcing our commitment to gender and reproductive justice! We are here for the fight and struggles ahead.
In Solidarity,
The Women’s Foundation of Oregon Team
