Two Years Ago to Today
To our WFO Community,
Two years ago, the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade and sparked a whole new era of attacks on reproductive rights, access, and healthcare. For many of us, we never thought the day would come where we would see the highest court make this unwelcomed decision. However, now we are confronted with a new reality where even contraception and more are up for debate and policy changes. It is a necessary and urgent calling for us to be in community, and for our community to be in a position of strength and organized.
Additionally, on top of the attacks to reproductive rights, there are still other areas of the work that cannot be forgotten- gender based violence, disproportionate impacts of global warming on women and girls, food insecurity and the lack of childcare access for families, and so much more.
At the end of the month we end our fiscal year. As we stated in our previous email our goal is to raise $10,000 by the end of June. We made this goal intentionally, to end our year positioned to take on the various, intersectional, and complex issues we work to address with our community. We hope that you will consider being a member of WFO and if you are already a member that you will help recruit three other individuals to join us. Our work, our community, our fight -is more critical than ever. Click here to become a member.
In gratitude,
The WFO Team
P.S. It is not too late to register for our, “Pause! What’s missing in the talk about menopause” happy hour! We will be sharing stories, concerns and the questions. The information that we learn at the event will help shape WFO’s future expert-led conversations about menopause that will take place in the fall.
